TECHNICAL COMPLIANCES
LIGHTNING PROTECTION, EARTHING SYSTEMS AND SURGE PROTECTION
We want to take this opportunity to introduce our Company in the specialised field of lightning protection and earthing systems, and briefly detail our operations to the Electrical Engineering world.
Founded some 44 years ago, branch offices are operating in Rustenburg, Durban, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Lephalale, Gaborone (Botswana) and Windhoek (Namibia).
We are contractors to PWD, Armscor, Eskom, Metrorail, Spoornet, all Mining Houses, Telkom and many more private firms and consulting engineers, architects and contractors.
The operation methods of our company are as follows:
- Scientifically designed lightning protection systems, protection structures, exposed power and communication lines.
- The performance of soil resistivity surveys so that an earth can be designed to exact electrical specifications rather than by physical dimensions.
- Improved methods of testing installed earths. All installations strictly follow SANS Code of 10313 (2012) in conjunction with SANS 62305-1-2-3-4 : 2011 and IEC 62305-1-2-3-4 : 2010.
- Designs of lightning protection and earthing for computer systems, etc.
- Surge protection to electronic equipment, computers, etc.
- Maintenance tests on existing lightning protection and earthing systems, etc.
It is recommended that maintenance tests are conducted annually when a Certificate of Compliance is issued.
We would be pleased to be of service to you and would welcome the opportunity of submitting a quotation and, on request, a design for any project in which you may be involved. This design could be sent to the SABS for SANS approval. We would require a set of drawings showing typical elevations, sections foundation of roof plan. Alternatively, we would need extracts from the Bill of Quantity.
The above information enables us to determine the best most economical method of installing the lightning protection system in accordance with the SANS Code of Practice.
We look forward to hearing from you and should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
