WhatsApp is a popular messaging app that is used by many people and businesses. In 2014, Facebook acquired WhatsApp and since then, many improvements have been made to the app. Businesses can now create WhatsApp business accounts and there are other tools that they can use to make the most of the app. This blog will give you all the information you need to know about WhatsApp and how to build your business using the platform.

Changing your Whatsapp Messenger account to a Whatsapp Business account on Android

Switching from WhatsApp Messenger to WhatsApp Business is fast, easy, and convenient. We recommend that you create a local or a Google Drive backup of your account before switching to this new app. Learn more about how to create a backup in this article.

1. Update WhatsApp Messenger and download WhatsApp Business from the Google Play Store.
2. Open WhatsApp Business.
   • Note: Keep WhatsApp Business open and your phone turned on until the account transfer process is complete.
3. Read the WhatsApp Business Terms of Service. Tap AGREE AND CONTINUE to accept the terms.
4. WhatsApp Business automatically identifies the number you’re using in WhatsApp Messenger. To continue, tap the option with your business number.
5. If the number showing is not the number you want to use, tap USE A DIFFERENT NUMBER and go through the standard verification process.
6. Tap CONTINUE > ALLOW to allow WhatsApp Business to access to your chat history and media.
7. Enter the 6-digit SMS code to verify your number.
8. Create your business profile > tap NEXT.
   • You can continue editing your business profile once your WhatsApp Business account is active.

Changing your Whatsapp Messenger account to a Whatsapp Business account on iPhone

1. Update WhatsApp Messenger and download WhatsApp Business from the App Store.
2. Open WhatsApp Business.
3. Read the WhatsApp Business Terms of Service. Tap Agree & Continue to accept the terms.
4. WhatsApp Business automatically identifies the number you’re using in WhatsApp Messenger. To continue, tap the option with your business number.
   • If the number showing is not the number you’d like to use, tap USE A DIFFERENT NUMBER and go through the normal verification process.
5. Enter the 6-digit SMS code to verify your number.
   • You won’t have to complete this step if your iCloud Keychain is enabled and you’ve verified this number on the same phone before.
6. Create your business profile > tap Done.
   • You can continue editing your business profile once your WhatsApp Business account is active.

How to use Whatsapp Business on Windows Desktop

It doesn’t look like WhatsApp Business is available in the Microsoft Store, so use the conventional WhatsApp Desktop. It has now changed that you don’t need a phone present anymore to use WhatsApp Desktop, so as long as you verify the account using your phone, you should be able to use it on multiple computers for your team to handle WhatsApp communication.
